Fix-it-Friday #143

Time for another Fix-it-Friday over at I Heart Faces!  This week's image is by Nicole Begley Photography.

My editing steps: created an adjustment layer in which I removed the green tint on his white fur, as well as some of the bluish tint on his nose/mouth.  Lighted the remaining areas of the photo slightly.  There really wasn't much editing needed with this adorable image.  I also converted it to a sepia/bronze shade, which I liked very well!

Here are my edits!

Fix-it-Friday #142

Another Fix-it-Friday over at I Heart Faces.  Today's beautiful image is courtesy of Paige Ewing Photography. I had fun editing this one!  I darkened the background slightly, sharpened a bit, and made her eyes pop a little more.  I then ran the PPA Summer Days action, which I adjusted to my liking.  I also converted it to black and white, which I loved as well.  Hard to choose between the color or black & white version on this one!!

I Heart Faces | Fix-it-Friday #140

Another Friday, another Fix-it-Friday over at I Heart Faces!  Fix-it-Friday is a great way to practice your photo editing skills.  The staff at I Heart Faces posts one photo each Friday that you are able to download a full resolution image copy of, then you can have fun trying out your editing skills...and then you can post your edited version in the topic thread where others can comment/critique your skills and you can see how others have edited as well.  You will have to join the I Heart Faces community in order to participate, because the Fix-it-Friday links and discussions are held in the forums, but it's completely free to join.

This week's beautiful photo is by Karey Miller Photography.  And here is the original along with my cropped  and edited version.

I used to love participating in the I Heart Faces Fix-it-Friday sessions, I haven't participated in a long time, so today I thought I'd jump back in the fun!  It's fun to see how other photographers edit photos, so many different perspectives and ideas!  I'm posting my edit here, but if you'd like to see what all the buzz is about, head over to I Heart Faces.

Fix-it-Friday's #99

Time for another round of Fix-it-Friday over at I Heart Faces! This week's photo is courtesy of Andrea Riley.

For my edit:
  1. Spot Healing tool to clean up a couple of spots on her coat
  2. Baby Powder Room from The Coffee Shop Blog to correct some of the red showing in her skin (from the lolly-pop) and to lighten under her eyes a bit
  3. Eye Popper for Dark Eyes from My 4 Hens
  4. Curly Sue action from My 4 Hens, adjusted the opacity a tad bit ;)

Fix-It-Friday #96

I participated in my 2nd Fix-It-Friday (FIF #96) over at http://iheartfaces.ning.com/forum/topics/fixit-friday-96. This is a great chance to practice photo editing skills & a chance to learn how other people edit as well.
I did 2 different edit versions this week (couldn't decide which I liked best!).

This is the orginal. ^^^

My editing steps for this one above:

  1. I first cropped the image to remove the car on the left side.
  2. Exposure Fix from My 4 Hens Photography
  3. Boost action from The Pioneer Woman
  4. Spring Chicken action from My 4 Hens Photography
  5. Web Rounded Corners action from The Coffee Shop Blog.

And for this one, I did the same steps as listed above - except in step #4 I used the One Day action from My 4 Hens.

All edits were done using Photoshop Elements 8.

Fix-It-Friday's

Today I participated (for the first time) in Fix-it-Friday's over at http://www.iheartfaces.com.
For Fix-it-Friday's they post a photo and let you download the full version & edit to your hearts desire, then you can post your edits back on the site.
I've been stalking that page for awhile now, it's always fun to see how others edit pictures and what comments are received.

I opened the original in Photoshop Elements 8, I then opened the Coffee Shop Blog's action called Baby Powder Room and worked a little magic to remove some of the redness around her nose & mouth, plus used the eye cleanup feature to bring out her eyes a little. Then I ran an action from My 4 Hens called April Flowers. So, what do you think?
